We all love a good story. The story of Christianity – the story of Anglicanism – is a great story, indeed, and we are all part of that story. This fall we are going to be offering a wonderful course that is open to everybody. We will be studying the Catechism in a very creative way. If you wish to be confirmed in March we are asking that you take this course, but this is open to everyone, and we hope you will join us.
From the Introduction: “This ‘catechism’ is grounded in the biblical narrative of salvation history. The goal is for you to enter into the story of the scriptures and connect with God in the wondrous story of creation and salvation and history, where God is active in the world, and where our identity is rooted in our relationship with the triune God.”
The Rev. Brother Jason Carroll, Ministry Developer of the Diocese of Calgary, has spent the last two years creating this course. In it he brings alive God’s saving grace in who we are, how we are connected to those who have gone before us, and how we play a part in the great story today. We are fortunate to have him facilitating the course. Although there are some big concepts here, the course is broken down into easily accessible chapters.
We will begin this course on Wednesday, October 4 and continue to meet the first and third Wednesdays of each month. We will meet in the Parish House at 7 pm. We will also be setting up a Zoom link for those who would prefer to participate that way.
More information will follow, along with a sign-up sheet. For now, mark down the date. If you have any questions, please speak to Father Rafiq, Jackie or Elizabeth. We hope to see you there.
Consider joining us for this exciting course beginning on October 4!
