On Tuesday, June 14 our large poplar tree with two trunks was uprooted in a windstorm. It appeared to present some danger, so it was necessary to remove the wreckage immediately. Thanks to Lorne Brace, Terry Dykstra, Ross Sargent and Mike Stott for undertaking the job of sawing up the trunks and hauling out the roots, and to Carmen and Caia Beck, Rose McRae and Sarah Tas (from the pre-school staff) for gathering, piling and loading the branches and debris. The job took about three hours.
There remain some trips to the landfill, and the work of disposing of the huge roots, but to this point there has been very little cost to the church to accomplish this task. Thank you very much!
